A PWD (Person with Disability) Alert System is a requirement in Singapore as part of fire fighting and rescue operations. This is a communication system used to assist persons with disabilities in case of fire and when they are at PWD holding areas.
- PWD Alert Panel located at any 24-hourly manned station, normally at the FCC
- PWD Distress Buttons at accessible positions at designated holding points. When pressed, LED indicator at alert panel light up to show location of activation.
- Panel is equipped with Acknowledgement Switches. When pressed, a signal is sent to the activated distress button turning LED yellow. This feedback feature re-assures the person at the holding point that help is coming.
- Panel equipped with charger and standby power, complete with power on, lamp test and system faults indicators
